Hyperhidrosis: Excessive Sweating
It is the excessive production of sweat beyond what is necessary to reduce elevated temperature to normal levels.
The areas to be treated are armpits, palms of the hands, soles of the feet, forehead, and back, and this happens due to different types of disorders:
· Damaged clothes
· Skin maceration
· Hiding sweat
· Contact dermatitis
· Secondary microbial infections
· There are different types:
· Primary or essential: young people, stress
· Focal or localized sweating
· Caused by hyperactivity of sweat glands, not by hypertrophy or increased number
Sweating is mediated by increased sympathetic activity: dopamine channeled through vasomotor fibers that innervate eccrine glands.
Activation: it occurs due to some stimulus, whether thermal, emotional, mechanical, gustatory, or apocrine.
Treatment:
Botox: with a duration of 1 and a half years in results.
